Inspired by the incredible energy and artistry from last summer, The Scratch is returning to Seattle! The Scratch is proud to announce that our second Seattle Workshop Series, produced in association with Really Really Theatre Group, will take place from August 11-27, 2019 at 18th & Union and 12th Ave Arts.
The series will be led by Founder and Artistic Director Andrew Garrett and Associate Producers: Andrew Lee Creech & Miss-Jay O'Leary [Artistic], Kiki Abba, Matthew Lewis, Riley Gene & Chris Quilici [Management], and Andrew R. Coopman & Claudine Mboligikpelani Nako [Public Programs]. The series will receive additional support from program partners: The Dramatists Guild of America, The Commonground, and director and producer Eddie DeHais.
The series will feature several artistic and public programs, all of which will be free to attend. Artistic programs include five In Pencil: Staged Readings of new shows by professional artists, and two In Pen: Developmental Labs of new shows by Nicholas Bernard and Jasmine Joshua. Public programs include Playwriting from Scratch: New Works Intensive featuring staged readings of original 10 minute plays by eight young playwrights, Speed Networking events, and preview and closing celebrations.
